Building girls' confidence - Taster lesson - Our amazing bodies

Understand how this training works, its coaching ethos, ideas for using the sessions, safeguarding / risk assessment and FAQ.

Building confidence starts with developing self-awareness, and understanding that we are each unique as individuals. 

Being inspired by role models, and what they have overcome in their lives, students also consider how they are role models.

Building on the insights from the role models session, students set their own short and long term goals and make plans to achieve them.

Through understanding messages in society around “perfect bodies”, exposing the prevalence of photoshopping and valuing our inner selves

Teaching students how to express themselves assertively, which helps to increase students’ confidence for speaking in class, with their friends and with adults.

Developing awareness of how girls speak to themselves, they learn how to be encouraging to themselves, enabling them to further build their confidence and resilience over time.

Use this module if you choose to run a single two hour Confidence Workshop with groups of students.  This could form part of a drop-down / off-timetable day, or perhaps a double PSHE lesson. 

Providing a feedback form you can use with your students, to measure the impact of these sessions, and help you understand what they've gained from the sessions.
